A Question of Stitch

Hi Log Cabin-ers! I'm going to repost this pic from my blog with a question for all of you:

This particular Log Cabin is done in single crochet with a size F needle. The stitch is tight, and as a result the drape is rather stiff, but it shows the colors (Rowan Cotton Glace) to great effect. I tried another swatch in half double crochet, and achieved much better drape, but the open stitches don't do justice to the colors. What do you think? Worse drape, better colors, or better drape and compromised colors? It's a real puzzle.

I'm making up my pattern as I go, based on the principles in the Mason Dixon Knitting book for a knit log cabin. I really do believe you can wing it.

Buttons

Well, these are the first three that I have come up with ... they aren't bad for a very tired person I guess - lol! Let me know what you all think & I can always head back to the drawing board.

Button

I think we need a button. (Or at least that's what I think it's called.) Anyone know how to do that kind of stuff? Oh and anyone willing to give me lessons on how to include a link in the middle of a post without using the big, long link? I'm clueless!

Hi!

I have 2 more skeins and I will be done with my first log cabin. I would post pics but my computer is down so I'm running off of my future hubbys computer.
I'm using bernat chunky in soft toupe, new denim heather and twilight twists.
I'll be sure to post pics when I'm done!

Do I need my hand slapped?

My loving (and long-suffering) hubby has brought it to my attention that I am the administrator of this blog and have yet to start my log cabin. Is this a bad thing? Can I be forgiven?

I've got the fever

Welcome everyone. I know it doesn't look like much right now, but I promise, this is going to be great. The layout is a work in progress, so if you have something you'd like to suggest, let me know and we'll see what we can work out. Post all of your log cabin-ness here. Whether it's crochet or knit. Thanks for checking it out.
